LRL Market is proud to be an affiliate of our parent company, Lewis Ranch Livestock- a ranch rooted in regenerative agriculture, animal stewardship, and faith-driven values. Founded by husband-and-wife team Matthew and Chandler, LRL Market was created from a shared passion for producing nutrient-dense, chemical-free products families can trust.
Matthew is a mixed animal veterinarian with several years of experience serving the Central Texas area. His knowledge and dedication to animal health play a vital role in the management and care of the livestock raised on our ranch. Chandler is a Registered Nurse by trade, with experience in cardiac care, intensive care, and postpartum nursing.
Today, Chandler serves in her most important role yet — being a mother to their three children. Like many nurses, stepping away from the field was not easy for Chandler, and she searched for a way to continue serving others while staying busy at home with their family. After a friend introduced them to tallow and its incredible benefits, they immediately knew they could create something special using the animals they already raise with care and intention.
While Matthew manages the ranch and cares for the animals, Chandler formulates and handcrafts every jar of tallow by hand. Over the past year, God has continually reaffirmed their passions and revealed new ways for them to serve Him through this business. LRL Market was built through faith, hard work, and a desire to honor God in everything they do. They have loved working together as a team and combining their talents to build this company together.
At LRL Market, our mission is to glorify God in everything we do while providing Brown County — and now customers across the United States — with nutrient-dense, chemical-free products you can trust. We are grateful for your support and look forward to serving your family with products made from the land we love and care for every day.
Yes, we do.
Here at LRL Market, every step of the tallow process is done with care and dedication. Each batch of rendered tallow is microbial tested for mold/bacteria to ensure that customers are receiving the best product for their skin.
Each tallow jar can vary in shelf life depending on how the product is cared for and stored after opening. With proper handling and storage, your tallow may last up to one year.
To maximize freshness and longevity, we recommend:
If the product is not handled or stored properly, we recommend using it within 6 months of purchase for best quality and freshness.
Because our products are made with natural ingredients and contain no unnecessary fillers or harsh preservatives, proper care is important to maintain the integrity of your tallow.
We strongly recommend storing tallow in a dry environment with ideal temperature of 60s-80s Fahrenheit. This is to ensure tallow does not melt, harden, or have bacteria introduced from a wet environment. We strongly recommend fully drying hands and ensuring they are clean before putting fingers in the jar.
Part of having clean products with no preservatives is taking the time to care for them properly so that bacteria is not introduced that will cause mold to form in the jar.
We strongly recommend doing a patch test with any new product that you have not tried before.
Apply the product to a small area only during initial application. This is to ensure there is no allergy or skin reaction before applying to a large amount of skin.
Every step of the tallow process is done by the creators of LRL Market, Matthew and Chandler, including the formulation creation. We source from our ranch, we formulate the product, and render, whip, and jar it.
Our tallow is sourced from our family ranch, Lewis Ranch Livestock, in Brookesmith, TX.
The cows are raised on pasture their entire lives.
All tallow can be greasy if not used sparingly. A little tallow goes a LONG way!
Regenerative agriculture focuses on soil health and the health of the animals. We never spray chemicals such as herbicides, pesticides, fertilizers, or glyphosate. This means that our animals are not ingesting any of these chemicals and it is not getting into their fat storage which is what tallow is made from.
